Woman Arrested for Leaving Racist and Alarming Messages to Church

AMITYVILLE – 30 Harrison Avenue / July 2, 2015 at approximately 5:50 p.m.

Suffolk County Police today arrested a woman for leaving racist and alarming messages at a church in Amityville.

On Wednesday, July 1, the Pastor of the New Hope Institutional Baptist Church located at 30 Harrison Avenue, Amityville called Suffolk County Police to report a racist and alarming telephone message left at the church. Hate Crimes Unit detectives were notified and initiated an investigation.

Detectives arrested Elisa Pellino at her home on Main Street in Farmingdale tonight at approximately 5:50 p.m.

She will be held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on July 3.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
