Wanted for Shelter Island Homicide

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a fast-cash reward of $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest in this case. The reward will be issued within 72 hours.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers, Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives, and the Shelter Island Police Department are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the person or people who burglarized a Shelter Island home last month and injured the homeowner who succumbed to his injuries on April 16.

Shelter Island police officers responded to check the welfare of an elderly resident of 3 Oak Tree Lane, in the Silver Beach area, on March 19 at 12:40 p.m. and discovered the 87-year-old man was injured. It was determined that the residence was burglarized and jewelry, including the Lucien Piccard Seashark watch pictured, was stolen. The victim was transported via Suffolk County Police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital where he died a month later.
