MEDFORD AND FARMINGVILLE – September 9, 2016 at approximately 10 a.m.
Suffolk County Police have arrested an undomiciled man who burglarized four churches in the last two weeks.
Sixth Precinct officers responded to a call of two men trespassing in a church building at the Calvary Baptist Church, located at 2918 Horseblock Road in Medford, at approximately 10 a.m. When officers arrived, the men had fled into nearby woods. Sixth Precinct Patrol officers located the two men, William Stepnowski and Louis Parisi, both undomiciled, at the intersection of Devon Avenue and Knickerbocker Road in Medford.
Stepnowski, 38, was arrested and charged by Sixth Squad detectives with Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree, Possession of Burglar’s Tools and with four counts of Burglary 3rd Degree for burglarizing the following churches:
· Calvary Baptist Church, 2918 Horseblock Road, Medford, on September 9
· St. Michael’s Archangel RC Church, 900 County Road 16, Farmingville on September 1
· Helping Hands Outreach Ministries, 950-5 Old Medford Avenue, Medford on August 29
· Medford Assembly of God, 2080 Route 112, Medford
Parisi, 25, was arrested and charged by Sixth Squad detectives with Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree for trespassing at the Calvary Baptist Church, 2918 Horseblock Road, Medford, on September 9
Stepnowski and Parisi will be held overnight at the Sixth Precinct and are scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on September 10.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
