Man Arrested for DWI After Driving Wrong Way on LIE

COMMACK – Westbound Long Island Expressway, near exit 52  / Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at approximately 2:20 a.m.

Suffolk County Police arrested a Bellrose man for driving while intoxicated after he drove the wrong way on the Long Island Expressway early this morning.

Following multiple 911 calls regarding a wrong way driver, Highway Patrol Bureau and Canine Section officers responded to the westbound LIE near exit 52 where Canine Section Officer Ralph Fuellbier was able to locate the wrong-way vehicle.

Ceron, 23, of 88-49 237 St., was scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip today.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
