Incident: East Patchogue Man Killed in Shooting
Location: Cedar Lane and West Lane, Medford
Date/Time: Saturday, July 6, 2019 at approximately 1:35 a.m.
Suffolk County Police today charged a man with killing an East Patchogue man in Medford earlier this month.
Following an investigation, Homicide Squad detectives charged Corey Coach today. Coach, 25, of 124 Maple Lane, Medford, was charged with Manslaughter 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree.
He is being held overnight at the Seventh Precinct and is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on July 11.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the shooting death of an East Patchogue man early this morning.
Sixth Precinct officers responded to multiple 911 calls regarding a large group of people fighting in the street in the area of Cedar Lane and West Lane in Medford at approximately 1:35 a.m.
Darnell Smith, 36, of East Patchogue, was shot.
Smith was transported by private vehicle to the Coram Fire Department, located at 303 Middle Country Road, Coram. He was subsequently transported by ambulance to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
